Mt Oxford air rescue
A Royal New Zealand Iroquois helicopter picked up an injured schoolboy tramper from the slopes of Mount Oxford, north-west of Oxford township, yesterday afternoon. The boy was with a school party in the area, a popular tramping one, when he suffered lacerations to a leg in a fall? •
The injured boy was transferred to a waiting St John ambulance at the heli-pad in South . Hagley Park 30 minutes later. He was treated at Christchurch Hospital and later discharged.
