Report ready
The report of the Consultative Committee on Computers in Schools has been approved for release by the Minister of Education and will soon be available to the public. The committee completed the report a number of months ago after a year’s deliberations. The committee
was set up at the request of Mr Wellington. The report is believed to recommend that high priority be given to introducing computer awareness courses and computer studies courses at high schools. It also favours standardisation of software so that software development can be coordinated at a national level.
