Forest policy
Sir,—May I extend my congratulations to Mr Elworthy, the Ministery of Forests, for his decision to protect most of the remaining virgin areas of Waihaha and Pureora State Forests. Once again the integrity of the conservation movement has been upheld. It is time all New Zealanders, not just a majority, realised that our conservationist stance is based on sound research and a clear understanding of the issues involved and that we are not just a bunch of “greenies” pushing emotive, selfish policies.—Yours, etc., MARK AUSTIN. May 15, 1982.
