‘Dallas’ film planned

NZPA Cannes The oil-rich Ewings of “Dallas” are making another take-over bid, this time for cinema audiences. J.R., the Ewing family and the rest of the cast of the hit TV series are to make their first cinema film. The SUS 9 million film will be tougher and sexier than the TV series. Lorimar, who make the series and who will produce the film, said: .“The major change in the film will be a hard-hitting script with action and passion that would not be allowed on American network television.”, The film was announced

by Lorimar at the Cannes Film Festival. It will feature the regular stars in the cast including Larry (J. R.) Hagman, Barbara Bel Geddes, Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy and Victoria Principal. The “Dallas” film will go into production next spring.
