Toll 13
PA Wellington The official Easter holiday road toll rose to 13 yesterday after a man, aged 33, was found dead in a car over a 14-metre bank on State highway three near Patea. This compared with five deaths for the entire holiday last year. The holiday period started at 4 p.m. on Thursday and ends this morning. The dead man’s name was not available immediately as next of kin had not been told. A Ministry of Transport
spokesman said the car had been there two days before it was found. The names of two drivers killed in a two-car collision on State highway one just north of Waiouru on Saturday have been released. They were GREGORY KENNETH GLASS, aged 42. an agricultural labourer of Te Awamutu. and ANNE MARIE RICHARDSON. aged 18, a trainee nurse, of Lower Hutt.
