Hope for whale
PA Napier The baby pygmy sperm whale found at Napier's Marine Parade beach on Sat-
urday is being lept alive by Marineland staff. The Marineland manager. Mr Gary MacDonald, said last evening that the 70 kilo whale was “holding its own." “We are feeding it more regularly on a mother's inilk diet of cream and fish," he said.
The whale's mother died on a beach north of Napier.
Mr MacDonald said the baby whale was being kept in a pool and was swimming about very slowly.
