N.Z. film wins prize

PA Wellington “Beyond Reasonable Doubt," the New Zealand film about the Crewe murders, has won first prize in an international thriller film festival in France, according to Mr Lindsay Shelton, information director for the New Zealand Film Commission.

The festival, held at Cognac, France, from April 2 to 5, had eight features from throughout the world. ' A panel of -judges of actors, thriller writers, and directors gave the New Zealand film first place and a cash prize.

Mr Shelter said he did not know the amount involved, but he said it would be spent on advertising and promoting the film in France, where it is yet to be sold or released.
