Kenyan in rally lead
NZPA-Reuter Nairobi Shekhar Mehta of Kenya grabbed the lead in the Kenya Safari Motor Rally yesterday ’ after Finland’s Rauno Aaltonen was hit by mechanical failure. Mehta, a Uganda-born British national seeking to better his record of four wins
in the event, took the lead of his Japanese works Datsun Violet GT at the end of the penultimate second leg yesterday. The Nairobi car dealer went in front when Aaltonen, the leader from the first leg, had a broken rear-axle on his West German factory Opel Ascona 400.
