Wee Donna Roxburgh fancy

Special correspondent Dunedin Wee Donna, which has not finished further back than third in her last seven starts, is in line to win the Roxburgh Handicap, the first leg of the Roxburgh Trotting Club's T.A.B. double today. Wee Donna is trained and will be driven by Maurice Kerr, the Gore horseman, who has a splendid record in the Roxburgh Handicap. He trained and drove Karalea to win in 1980 and won with Glen Moria the previous year. He also drove Fait Accompli to win in 1973 and 1974. Wee Donna finished third to Sir Bret and Hillcrest Lad over 3200 m on a slushy track at Invercargill 10 days ago and she ran Sir Bret to a neck at Winton in her previous start. She won at Wyndham last month and was runner up to Risdon Lea in the Wyndham Cup and second to. Kintyre over a mile at Forbury Park. Blueberry Hill, a close second to May Win on Saturday evening after racing in the open, should be capable of a bold bid from the pole position. Steady Lady, a promising three-year old. makes most appeal in the Central Otago Stakes the second leg of the T.A.B. double. Steady Lady was a maiden winner at Winton last month and she came from the second line to finish third to Dab Chick and lowa over a mile at Invercargill last time. Drivers PA Dunedin H.
