Activities of S.P.U.C.
Sir,—P. S. Brooke (November 20), wrongly presumes the purpose of my letter (November 16) to be that of, I quote, “examining with disapproval the size of the S.P.U.C. membership.” He dr she then proceeds to draw a red herring with 1967 U.K. statistics. I subscribe to neither pro nor anti-abortion groups and seek objectivity on the question of pressure group activitiy in a democracy. In this regard I quoted an eminent legal authority. Sadly, the questions raised have been overlooked or side-tracked and I repeat: Could S.P.U.C. please inform the public the number of its financial members in relation to the total population, and the method used to obtain data and statistics? I would ask P. S. Brooke to read my letter of November 16 with an objective mind—Yours, etc., , ALICE CUTLER. November 23, 1981..,
