Retail stocks up 7.9p.c.
PA Wellington Retail stocks were 7.9 per cent higher in value on September 30, 1981, than at the same time last year, according to Statistics Department figures. They were also 5.3 per cent higher at this time than on June 30, 1981, although this figure is reduced to 2.1 per cent when seasonal variations are taken into account, said a Statistics Department statement. The greatest increase over the yearly period was in grocery and dairy items, which increased 20.3 per cent in value. Other food items were up by 17.6 per cent, while hardware and builders' hardware goods rose by 18.3 per cent.
