New bowel machine
The (Canterbury lOsstomy Society has given a $6600 bowel examination machine to the North Canterbury Hospital Board. The volunteer organisation has spent the last six months raising funds to buy the flexible fibroptic sigmoidoscope which was presented to the board last evening. The ceremony marked the twientieth anniversary of the society which provides information and support for people who have had bowel surgery. The machine will replace the present obsolete sigmoidoscope, making bowel examinations, more efficient and comfortable for patients.
