Nissan’s new models
Nissan in Japan have launched a new range of front-wheel-drive models to be known by the model, names Violet. Auster or Stanza. This model range replaces the rally-winning Violet and Stanza series as rallied successfully last year in New Zealand by Timo Salonen.
The new series will be in the first models to be primarily badged Nissan on the world market after the release of the company’s twoyear plan to change its trading brand name from Datsun to Nissan. It is unlikely, however, that the Stanza-Violet models will be assembled in New Zealand or Australia.
