NZPA New Delhi An Indian Government spokesman said yesterday that the England cricket tour of India, due to start next week, was still under consideration. The Press Trust of India (P.T.1.),’ quoting authoritative sources, had said earlier that the tour had been cancelled because of the inclusion of the England players, Geoff Boycott and Geoff Cook, who have South African sporting connections. The government spokesman said the P.T.I. report was not correct.

The Indian Cricket Board of Control said in Bombay yesterday it was still hopeful that the’England tour would take place. The board’s president, S. K. Wankhede, is flying to Delhi today from Bombay to discuss the situation with government officials. The Prime Minister, Mrs Indira Gandhi, said on her return ■ to Delhi from ' the Cancun Summit in Mexico on Tuesday that she would give her decision on the tour “as soon as possible.”
