Narrow escape
PA Hamilton A Morrinsville . doctor who was out jogging pulled a man from his light van in the'face of- an oncoming train yesterday. The rescued man, Philip Williams, was crossing a bridge .in Morrinsville when the vehicle he was driving left the road and toppled over the bridge, landing upside down on the railway line. The doctor, whose name was unavailable last evening, discovered the man
hanging upside down insiue the van. He pulled Mr Williams out only moments before the train' hit the..,.van, which it is believed contained one other occupant. Mr Williams was reported to be in a comfortable condition in the Waikato Hospital last. evening. Hospital authorities confirmed that a second man had been involved ! i the incident, but would not name him or comment on the extent of his injuries.
