Seven protesters arrested in Wgtn
PA Wellington Seven anti-Springbok tour protesters were arrested in Wellington yesterday. The protesters ' had as-
sembled on a motorway overbridge about 7 a.m. and hung a large anti-tour banner over the railings. The police were called and arrested the protesters after they had declined to move. No resistance was offered. Before the police arrived, a May Mobilisation Committee member, Mr , Francis Weavers, said that responses from motorists seemed equally divided between gestures of support and opposition. The police said the protesters had been most cooperative and all had been released on police bail to appear in court on Tuesday.
