King to countersuit
NZPA-Reuter Los Angeles ■An attorney for tennis star Billie Jean King says a suit will be filed soon against a wheelchair-bound hairdresser who has sued Mrs King for “palimony.” The hairdresser's suit asserts she lived with Mrs King in a homosexual relationship during the early 19705. Mrs King, who was the No. 1 ranked woman tennis player in the world in the late 1960 s and early 19705.
said in a statement that the allegations by Marilyn Barnett, aged 32, were “untrue and unfounded” and that she was “shocked and disap- ( pointed” by her former employee’s action. ! ' Her attorney said Mrsl King's suit will seek to have Barnett evicted from a house | owned by Mrs King and her ; husband, Larry. Barnett filed suit on Tues-1 day for an interest in the: house she says Mrs King bought for her in 1974.
