N.Z. lends educator
Parliamentary reporter The Director-General of Education in New Zealand (Mr W. L. Renwick) will be “lent” to the Victotian Government to assist in the reorganisation of education in that Australian state.
This was announced yesterday by the Minister of Education (Mr Wellington), who has acceded to a request from his Victorian counterpart (Mr A. J. Hunt) to release Mr Renwick to act as a consultant to the Ministerial steering group in charge of the reorganisation. Mr Renwick will make two short trips to Melbourne, the first this week.
. Mr Wellington said he was happy to meet the request because it enabled New Zealand to repay a 56-year-old debt to Victoria.
