Top badminton players return
PA Wellington Two former internationals who were unavailable for top level competition last year make a return in this season’s first big badminton event.
Ross Livingston, of Auckland, who was ruled out for almost all of last season with a broken arm, arid Robyn Denton, also of Auckland, who has been unavailable for two years, are both among the invitees for the Austin singles tournaihent at Waitemata on May 8-9. Both could prove vital to New Zealand’s hopes in a busy season which iricludes tours by Australia and England. . The national selectors have chosen-16 men and 16 women for the Austin tournament, which should given, them an early indica-
tion of a likely New Zealand line-up to take on the Australians in the three-test Whyte Trophy series in July and August.
