Big increase in stakes at Nelson
Stakes have been increased by more than 25 per cent for the Nelson Trotting Club’s winter meeting at Richmond Park on June 13 and 16. I More than $50,000 will be distributed this year, against $40,000 last year. Stakes for all races have! been increased. The feature race on the first day will carry a stake of $4500 and will be run over 3200 m for pacers assessed at from C 3 to C 6. The corresponding race on the second day will be run over 2400 m for a’ stake of $4OOO. Races for three and four-) year-old pacers will carry!
■stakes of $3250 and $3000! -■respectively. ;! Maiden horses will race! ■ for $2lOO. Cl horses for > $2400 and C2 horses for | $2700. ![ The main race for trotters : each day will cater from Cl [to C 4 and carry a stake of ; I $2400. Should a C 4 horse : win it will receive a stake equivalent to that for a C 4 I class.
