Tumbleweed, ridden by a Canter-bury-Westland pony club team member. Annabel Carter, scored a convincing win tn the intermediate class at the annua! one-day horse trials at Motukarttra. Second to Tumbleweed was a [ormer team member. Brian Costello. riding the A grade jumper. Salvador A number of horses and riders m the intermediate class were noticeably unfit to cope with the distance and hilly terrain. A B grade jumper. Danny Boy ridden by Jan Tremaine, won the novice class with a good dressage score of 22 penalties, the only clear cross-country, and five show jumping penalties Gendie Chapman, riding The Postman, was second Sharon Deardon. riding Charisma, after an excellent dressage score, of 12.5 penalties, struck trouble at two combination fences, and on breaking a stirrup leather, had a nastv tall Two members of the CanterburyWestland team.
