The Revenge of Badsky

In the school holidays the Canterbury Children’s Theatre will bring outer space, to the stage in an exciting new play called “The Revenge of Badsky.” It was specially written for the Children’s Theate by playwright Ken Hudson. The setting.of the play is a planet inhabited by two different groups. The poor people have been driven back into the mountains of Badsky by earlier invaders who had settled in the fertile valleys of Cloudshelter. Between the lands of poor and rich stretches in eerie white forest which no man dares to enter.

A second invasion has taken place and there is fighting in Cloudshelter. The people of Badksy are not worried about the fate of the settlers, but they have troubles of a different kind. Many of them, led by a rebel called Jowbo, want to gang up with the invaders to overthrow the wealthy settlers and take over their land. Grenthaldos, the true leader of Badsky, does not believe in treachery and warfare, but the stirrers are

out for revenge. They make a pact with the invaders. A hero of the story is Dillibon, a simple soul who does not understand hatred and greed. Alone and unafraid he walks through the forest of terror to tell the settlers what is going on. At first the smart settlers

jeer at the comical Dillibon, but not for long. They soon understand the good sense of the peacemaker’s simple message, and some of them agree to return with him to Badsky. The white forest is ghostly by night. Dillibon and the party of settlers narrowly

escape disaster several times as they stumble through the darkness made hideous as a lumbering mechancial monster keeps up its relentless pursuit determined to get them at all costs. “The Revenge of Badsky,” a fantasy of war among the stars, will come down to
