PA Wellington The Director of Civil Aviation (Captain E. T. Kippenberger) said yesterday that he could not comment on the findings of the Erebus inquiry until he had written a report for the Minister of Civil Aviation (Mr McLachlan) to take to the Cabinet for detailed consideration. He said that Mr McLachlan would possibly have the report on the Commission’s findings “some time next week.”
The Chief Inspector of Air Accidents (Mr R. Chippindale) was not available for comment.
