Road ‘not maintained’

Timaru reporter _ The Mount Dobson skifield road could be severely damaged in heavy rain because of blocked culverts, said the chief soil conservator of the South Canterbury Catchment Board, Mr A. Rowell yesterday. The Jack of regular upkeep of the road was apparent, he told the board. There had been no work on developing facilities, including sewerage or maintenance of stability works since the ski season closed, Mr Rowell said. Staff of the Catchment Toard and the Lands and Survey Department will discuss these matters with the ski-field company, which is responsible for them.
