Poison warning at park
The Lands and Survey Department. has . , warned the public that rabbit, poison will be laid at VGoldey Head Farm Park for about a tnohth from Fcbri'.arv 9, and special; care' must be taken by-; 'visitors/; using the walkway. ' ‘ The Assistant stoner of Crown Lands,sin Cnristchurch,/Mr TL, K, Sly. said that oats impregnated with 1080 poison would be laid. ' Mr Sly said that all child-; ren using the walkway should., be well supervised, and all dogs secured on a Hand-held, leash. ' Warning signs /- would /be' placed on the reserve and walkway, and visitors should not touch baits or rabbit carcases. Mr Sly said that reducing the rabbit population was essential to park management. Rabbit shooting was illegal in the park.
