Infanticide charge

PA ' Hamilton A Hamilton housewife who drowned her baby, aged 11 months, in the Waikato River in August pleaded guilty in the High Court at Hamilton yesterday to a charge of infanticide. Earlier the woman, aged 34, ’ whose name has been suppressed, had been accused of the murder of her son. Mr Justice Bisson remanded her on $lOOO bail with a surety of §lOOO to February 13 for probation and more psychiatric reports before sentence. He said the bail was set subject to her remaining at Tokanui Hospital.
