The Timaru Harbour Board’s tug Aorangi helps the Norwegian container ship Baidero to berth. With a dead weight of 16,700 tonnes, the Baidero is the smallest multi-purpose vessel in the Norwegian Gearbulk shipping fleet. Timaru is the ship’s only South Island port of call. The Baidero is expected to take out 100 containers each month to overseas ports.
