Christchurch bus service

Sir, —I would like to express my satisfaction with the service given by the Christchurch Transport Board drivers. Having been away from New Zealand for several years, and having travelled on buses in a number of different countries, it has been a pleasure to return to the courtesy and helpfulness of the local drivers. The buses in Christchurch are. generally frequent and on time. It is a pleasure too, to see the assistance given to elderly people and mothers with prams. This latter service is something I have never seen anywhere else. One request I would like to make is that consideration be given to the operation of a special commuter bus to carry bicycles through the Lyttelton tunnel, as seen in operation across the Auckland Harbour bridge. — Yours, etc.,

JANET GOUGH. March 27, 1980.
