Woman’s death
A young' woman has died in the Christchurch Hospital after an accident on the Main West Coast Road at West Melton on Tuesday evening. She was Phyllis Mary Johnston, aged 26, married, a machinist, of West Melton. Mrs Johnston was trapped for half an hour after two cars collided about Ikm west of West Melton at 6.45 p.m. She suffered severe head injuries.' The occupants of the other car escaped with minor injuries.
