Sydney trip for Smith, Davie
Two of Canterbury’s more promising young rugby players, Wayne Smith and ■Murray Davie, will get an early taste of top competition this season. Subject to approval by the Australian and New Zealand unions,' the pair will play for a President’s XV against a Sydney team in a festival match in Sydney on Easter Saturday. The organisers of the match have requested six New Zealand players and Canterbury was asked to provide a first five-eighths and a prop.
