Yamaha factory opens in Taiwan
The Japanese Yamaha company has opened a new plant in Taiwan w'ith an initial production capacity of 3000 motorcycles a month. The move is expected to increase Yamaha’s already impressive share of the large market in Taiwan. At present about three
million motor-cycles, mostly of the small capacity variety, are registered in Taiwan, which has a total population of 17 million. This can be compared with the 1;3 million bikes in Great Britain, which has a population of nearly 60 million.
