The America Star loading lamb for Iran at Cashin Quay yesterday. The vessel was originally scheduled to take on a full cargo of 3500 tonnes at Bluff but was diverted to Lyttelton for the final 1000 tonnes because there was not enough Halal-killed lamb at Bluff. This is the first direct shipment of lamb to Iran from the Port of Lyttelton. The America Star, which arrived in port on February 22, only to encounter a shortage of labour, is now scheduled to sail on Saturday.
