Locarno invited to Miracle Mile
Canterbury stables will have two runners — Lord Module and Locarno —in the 555,000 Miracle Mile at Harold Park tomorrow week. Officials of the. New South Wales Trotting Club yesterday allocated sixth place in the star-studded field to Locarno after The Scotsman.
winner of the Miracle Mile 12 months ago, had failed to j impress at Menangie the ■ previous night. This will be the first occa- ‘ sion that New Zealandowned and trained horses will have contested the rich mile. The other horses selected ■ for the mile are Frosty Imp, Koala King. Paleface Adios, and Pure Steel. . The emergencies are Brad Adios, from Victoria, and The Scotsman. A spokesman for the United States track, Meadowlands, has advised Sydney officials that they are considering inviting all six runners in the Miracle Mile to their international series to be run in May’.
