‘Clean New Zealand Day’
Get the rubbish bags out — Saturday. March 1, is “Clean New Zealand Day.” Local authorities in many districts will co-ordi-nate the clean-ups. Mr A. H. M. Millar, executive director of the Litter Control Council, which promotes the event each vear, said that the day was “a means of focusing attention on the litter problem, with the object of reducing the incidence of littering.” It was also a chance for a “grand cleanup on a national scale.”
