Quin over hurdle?

NZPA Melbourne The “oldest’ of Melbourne’s Kissane quins, Justin, seems to have overcome the first critical phase in his struggle for survival.

His three brothers, Mark Stephen, and Anthony, and his sister, Cathryn, maintain their general condition. Dr Josephine Kissane, the quins’ mother, is very well. ■

A hospital bulletin said last evening that Cathryn,

the smallest of the five-day-old babies, continued to cause the most concern. The medical director of the hospital (Dr James Breheny) said Cathryn required more attention from the nursing' staff and doctors than the other quins. The quins were born last Friday.

They were 11 weeks premature. Since their birth they have struggled with a respiratory problem common among premature children.
