Bull to lead Canty XI

Cran Bull will captain a Canterbury cricket XI in its two-dav match against Nelson at Hagley Oval next Friday and Saturday. Bull is the only High School Old Boys nlayer in the Canterbury XI, which includes seven of the team defeated by a Country representative side at Rangiora yesterday.

The changes are in bowling and wicketkeeping departments. Kevin Collins, the Burn-side-West University captain, replaces Bryan Ritchie behind the stumps while the Town trio of lan Wilson, Tony Farrant, and Robert Wilson gives way to Steve Bateman. Gerald Cummins, and Glen Bateman.

The team is: Lindsay Thorn, David Stead, Glen Bateman (all Riccarton), Steve Bateman, Collins, Cummins (Burnside-West), Vaughan Brown, Paul McEwan (Old Collegians), Geoff Smith (St Albans), Dave Dempsey (Lancaster Park), and Bull (High School Old Boys).
