Children might have gun
Christchurch detectives fear that children might have found a shotgun which was stolen and hidden under a bush in Shirley on Sunday. Thev also believe that the double-barrel gun. which, was stolen together with, motor-cycie pans from a house in Bridge Street. South New Brighton, might have been intended for use in a roboery. At 1 pan. on Sunday, the police received an anonymous call to say that the gun had been broken down, wrapped in a rubbish hag, and put in a blue sack which had been hidden; under a bush near a bridge; at the intersection of Guild' Street and Stapletons Road/ Shirley. The caller also told the police where the stolen, motbr-cvcle parts were hid-! den.
