Mr Muldoon and interviews

Sir, — After watching this evening’s “Eye Witness” programme, I wish to comment on the short, sharp, and bitter interview with Mr Muldoon as he boarded an aeroplane. When questioned about the justification of chartering that aeroplane, Mr Muldoon saw fit to question the justification of two camera crews turning up to interview him. While I do not want to discuss fuel conservation or broadcasting expenditure, I do want to register disappointment in Mr Muldoon’s “what do you people want” attitude toward the interviewers. In my youth I was taught that the office of Prime Minister was a dignified and responsible position. In this instance the Prime Minister was, in my opinion, neither dignified nor responsible. — Yours, etc., CHRIS NIXON, Darfield. June 14, 1979.
