The company now has 21.65 per cent of the capital of F. J. Walker, Ltd, Australia’s largest locally-cfwned meat processor and trader. The main aim of this purchase is to develop joint export marketing between Australia and New Zealand. “Even though this link was forged only 2 months ago already worthwile areas or co-operation have opened and our expectations for this venture are high. “We see the acquisition of shares in F. J. Walker and, to a much lesser extent the entry into the Tasman shipping trade, as a means of creating links with Australia which New Zealand needs,” the report says.
