I.B.M. chess
NZPA Amsterdam Jan Timman, of the Netherlands. has won the 1.8. M. international chess tournament, drawing his final round game against his fellow-countryman, Hans Ree. The 26-year-old Dutch grand master, who made sure of the title yesterday, ended the 13 rounds with 9J points, one point ahead of Zoltan Ribli, of Hungary, who drew his final game against Walter Browne, of the United States.
In the “B” group tournament, Yusupov, pf the Soviet Union drew his final round game against Christiansen, of the United States, to take first place with 91 points. Christiansen was second with 8J points.
