Man dies in house fire

PA Dunedin A man died in a fire which gutted a house on Thames Highway, Oamaru, yesterday. He was lan Craig, aged 38, a timber worker, of 527 Thames Highway. The cause of the fire is not known. Deputy Chief Fire Officer P. M. MacGregor said that Mr Craig’s body was found in a small, combined washhouse-bath-room. It is thought Mr Craig was asphyxiated.
