Mid-South wins golf
1 The Mid-South Canterbury golf team had a comfortable 16-8 win over Central Canterbury when the two teams clashed in cold and wet conditions at. Methven at the weekend. Foursomes and singles matches were played, and results were:— Singles (Mid-South Canterbury names first).—K. Fraser halved with R. W. Pirle; C. Taylor lost to G. M. Gunn, 2 and 1: G. Smith beat S. Parker, 3 and 2: J. Forrest beat C. Nairn, 3 and 1; P. Hayes lost to R. 11. Neal, 2 and 1; J. Domigan lost to J. Brooker. 4 and 2; G. Keen beat R. Symon, 5 and 4; R. Middleton beat J. Vessey, 2 and 1: A. Mangum beat S. Oliver. 5 and 4; L. Starr beat I. Bourke, 1 up; R. Robbie beat L. Stewart.
