Falls continue
Australian sharemarkets I eased further yesterday. Early this week the fallsl were blamed on normal end of financial year factors, but the falling United States and Australian dollars, and quieter overseas stock markets are now sharing the blame. B.H.P. was down 8c at 696 c and the Bank of NSW eased 2c to 592 c, but the ANZ Bank rose 5c to 298 c. Waltons ■■ose 2c to 95c ’ but Coles eased a cent to 196 c after news of a pos- • sible reorganisation of its Kmart subsidiary.
i> A sale of 150,000 Utah at 1420 c and another 9000 at |425 were made overseas. The local price eased 5c to ! 420 c. Other coal stocks iml proved, with Coal and Allied i up 8c to 39O'i, and Thiess up 3c to 263 c. White Industries gained 7c to 162 c on a turn- : over of 63,000 in Sydney. Consolidated Gold Fields, ■Reni s o n , CRA, Pancontinental, Mim, Robe River, and North BH were i lower. Bougainville copper was i up 2c to 125 c, and Ham-’ ersley rose a cent to 241 c.
