K.P. share inquiry

PA Dunedin The New Zealand Stock Exchange Association is investigating an allegation that Kempthofne Prosser and Company, Ltd, is refusing to register share transfers. KP is the subject of a takeover bid, expiring on June 30, from the farmer-backed Ravensdown Fertiliser Company. The Stock Exchange investigation concerns an allegation that KP is refusing to transfer shares registered in the name of Ravensdown,

or in the names of persons supposed to be supporting Ravensdown. However, it is understood that KP's articles of association satisfy the stock exchange requirements as they stand at present. But stock exchange policy is that by April 1, 1980. all companies will be in breach of listing requirements if they refuse to register share transfers.
