HUMAN BIOLOGY Applicants should hold a higher technical qualification and have extensive laboratory experience. The Department of Human Biology is responsible for teaching medical and dental students. Disciplines taught within the department include Anatomy, Histology. Biochemistry, Physiology, and Pharmacology. Varied research projects are being carried out. There are eleven established technical positions responsible to a Chief Technician. All technical positions other than this advertised are ai- . ready localised. Applicants will be expected to have experience in training junior staff and this will be a prime part of their duties. While candidates may have their basic training in any of the disciplines forming the Department of Human Biology, preference may be given to those with particular skills in the fields of anatomical museum techniques or Histology. However, it is hoped that the successful candidate will have broad technical skills and interests beyond his/her particular speciality. Salary: KI 1,825 per annumK 13.900 per annum. THE UNIVERSITY OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA (PORT MORESBY) SENIOR TUTOR/LECTURER IN ANATOMY APPLICATIONS are invited for the position of Senior Tutor/Lecturer in Anatomy in the Department of Human Biology. Duties in the department will be to share in the teaching of gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, histology and embryology to second and third year medical students. The department adopts an integrated approach to the teaching of human biologywhich includes human anatomy physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology. I An honours degree or equivalent in science or medicine is required, and a higher degree in human structure is desirable. Experience in teaching in a medical school in a developing country would be an advantage. SALARIES: Senior Tutor Grade 1: K8943-K9933 per annum. Lecturer Grade 2: K 10,159K 13.918 per annm.
