Top Angus heifer
The only South Island heifer in the catalogue sold for - the top price of $2700 at the Twilight Angus female sale at Hamilton. She was Te Mania 175, bred by F. F. Wilding, of the Te Mania stud at Parnassus, and bought by 11. B. Williams, of Gisborne. The average for the sale, for which all entries must come from proven bloodlines, was $1172. The winning bull at the Putaruru test this year was offered on account of C. Parsons, of Taupo, and sold for $12,000 1o R. F. R. Jolly, of Te Awamutu. It was the second successful ' sale already this season for | Mr Wilding. Te Mania Uranium, i sired by Massive of Kaharau, | and bred at the Australian stud i owned in partnership by Mr i Wilding and his brother-in-law, i Mr Andrew Gubbins, sold at the Suzuki Angus classic sale I at Wodonga in Australia last ! month for $21,000, which tfas I twice the previous record in | Australia for an Angus bull i sold at auction. —
