Advertising visitor
David Ogilvy, a leading figure in modern advertising, will visit New Zealand this week. Mr Ogilvy is international creative director of the agency he founded in 1949, Ogilvy and Mather, which since then has expanded to 28 countries. Mr Ogilvy’s New Zealand visit is part business, part holiday. Arriving aboard the liner Queen Elizabeth II today, he will have a day of business appointments in Auckland including ■ a luncheon address to the American Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand. On Thursday, he will call on the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon), and address an advertising industry luncheon in Wellington. M r Ogilvy’s book, ‘‘Confessions of an Advertising Man,” has sold more than 600,000 copies in 11 languages. He was born in Scotland but now lives in southern France.
