Australian sharemarkets closed firmer yesterday. Leading industrial mining and oil stocks attracted support, but also some,pro-fit-taking. B.H.P. moved two cents ahead to 582 c at noon, but afternoon selling cut the price to 578 c. The banks moved ahead with the Wales gaining 10c to 560 c, and the CBA and C.B. Co were higher. ACI moved 4c higher to ' 182 c. i CSR gave up 3c to 300 c, but Bundaberg held steady at 350 c. Pancontinental eased 10c to 1250 c, and other uranium stocks also retreated a few cents. j Oils were firm, Ampol Ex (gaining 5c to 128 c. Woodj side changing hands steady l at 86c. 1 Late-selling knocked 5c off
