THE LOCATION: The plant is situated approximately 5 miles from Grey mouth on the Main South Road. THE PLANT: Consists of 1. 33,000 lb per hour John Thompson water tube boiler on which most of the processes are automatic. There is also the usual auxiliary equipment associated with a boiler of this size. The boiler is tired for the most part on wood waste from the Manufacturing Processes and on coal when wood waste is not available. QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of Second Class Stationary Certificate is required to operate this plant. SHIFTS: A rotating shift roster is worked and at present overtime is also being worked to suit the rpnnmg of the factory. The boiler is run 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
