Journalist as hero
“The Andros Targets,” on TVI tonight, is a new American series featuring the exploits of investigative reporters. James Sutorius stars as Mike Andros, a reporter with a large metropolitan daily newspaper, the “New York Forum.” He is "a man with a mission” — to seek out criminals, no matter how powerful or prominent, and to expose them to the public. His chief ally is a young woman reporter, Sandi (Pamela Reed). Both are dedicated to uncovering corruption and the people behind it. Often these people are cloaked in respectability and, because of their power, are in a position to strike back.
During the series Andros confronts pornographic film-makers, crooked congressmen, political columnists “on the take,” a doctor running a drug racket, union “heavies,” and bogus religious orders — along with a sprinkling of plain, oldfashioned murderers.
